Right after college and you’re out here full spirited ready for the world đ, looking forward to a good job because after all, you were always told get a good degree and the doors will open. Then you are here in the “real world”.,its a bed of roses in the beginning because you are not in such a hurry anyway and you feel like you deserve some rest, after toiling so hard the past 4 years or whatever year it was.
Weeks turn into months if waiting and hoping, of hearing your friends getting it., Moving out.and at that time
Quarter Life Crisis hits at it’s worst,
Let’s get familiar with the whole concept, QLC is a fundamental stage in life and everyone goes through it and its perfectly okay. It happens mostly through your 20s, and you’re in and out of self doubt, anger,, frustraion, feeling lost, scared, confused.
Tbh, I’m here in this stage, and its frustrating AF, most of the time I find myself questioning why I wanted to grow up so fast, to finish school, I’m constantly questioning if the big dreams I had as a kid were just that, dreams, real world is no joke, it’s also not that bad either,
It’s just that there are days, alot of them, when I feel all these things. And yes I’m currently interning somewhere, #and I know most of y’all will be out here with your loud mouths, of you’re very lucky most people don’t have what you have, kazi ni kazi bullshit., And I get all that., People have to start somewhere, and yes I am so grateful for the opportunity because I’m learning alot about the job and myself, and it’s waay better than just staying at home in my thoughts, that would be waaay worse,
So yes it’s okay to doubt and feel lost, to struggle between wanting intimacy a solitude, it’s the time you struggle to find what career path makes your heart Happy, you know that job that you can’t wait to wake up for, and can’t get your hands off once you start, yes baby you will get thereâșïž and QLC will remain to be a phase,
If it gets too overwhelming at some point try these few tips and see how it goes,
1. Talk about it with your peers, you’ll get to see you’re not the only one feeling stuck, and you’ll probably end u laughing about it at some point
2. Get a side hustle. Especially if you’re working somewhere and you feel unfulfilled most of the time, find something to channel your frustrations and anger to,
3. Tell yourself it’s normal
Everyone went through it.,and more will go through it, so just know it’s a transition, you remember the time you wanted to quit school so bad, but you still went through and now y’all laugh about it,. đyes, that’s QLC for you too
4. Give yourself some TLC
Celebrate your small goals more,
Live each day at a time, instead of worrying too much about your future,
Cut off negativity especially people who will put you down and invalidate your feelings.,instead find people you share interests with and spend time with them.
So Yes love yourself more, work on yourself..everyone has their personal journey and we will never be the same.
Listen to Why Georgia and Landslides . These are true proof that’s it’s all normal, loves
We will style up so goodđ after this crisisđ
Cheers đ„
